Op de vooravond van uitgestelde Congolese verkiezingen werken twee Congolese en twee Belgische cineasten aan een film over Kinshasa en haar verzet tegen de erfenissen van het kolonialisme. De vier filmmakers willen samen een verhaal vertellen. Ze zijn echter opgegroeid aan verschillende kanten van de geschiedenis, en hebben daardoor andere ideeën over hoe ze dat zouden aanpakken. Hoe moet de film eruit zien? Wie moet erin voorkomen? Voor wie wordt de film gemaakt?
'Faire-part' is de zoektocht van vier filmmakers naar een manier om de stad te portretteren. Door het filmen van artistieke performances in openbare ruimtes, schetsen ze een provocatief beeld van Kinshasa en haar relaties met de rest van de wereld.

On the eve of postponed Congolese elections, two Congolese and two Belgian cineasts work on a film about Kinshasa and its resistance against the legacies of colonialism. The four filmmakers want to tell a story together, but having grown up on other sides of history, they have different views on how to tell that story. How should it look like? Who should be in it? For whom is it made?
‘Faire-part’ is the search of 4 filmmakers for a way to portray the city. Through filming artistic performances in public space, they paint a provocative picture of Kinshasa and its relations with the rest of the world.

A la veille des élections congolaises reportées, deux cinéastes congolais et deux cinéastes belges créent un film à propos de Kinshasa et de sa résistance contre l'heritage colonial. Les quatre réalisateurs veulent raconter une histoire ensemble, mais avoir grandi chacun de part et d'autre de cette histoire leur confère des points de vue différents sur la façon avec laquelle la raconter. A quoi cela devrait ressembler? Qui y inclure? A qui cela s'adresse?
'Faire-part' est une recherche de quatre réalisateurs sur la manière de dépeindre une ville. En filmant des performances artistiques qui ont lieu dans l'espace public, ils brossent un portrait provoquant de Kinshasa et de ses relations avec le reste du monde.
